OUR STORY

Welcome to Tamzen Lundy Designs, where you will find quirky, sustainably made, felted gifts. Handmade with care and attention from wool.

Using the technique of wet felting ( wool fibre+ soap+ water+ rubbing + rolling + magic) and bringing you a new way of looking at the very oldest textile craft in the world.

I am inspired by stories, nature and the Irish landscape. I work from my studio in Co.Kildare.

wet felt making

Wet felt making is the oldest form of textile making in the world. It pre-dates knitting and weave... it uses no needles. The agitation of fibres with soap and water creates a felted fabric... Felt is a noun and a verb.

Using Water, Soap and your Hands

Felt is the textile we make... we "felt" the fibre into a textile known as "Felt"

Felt: is the noun and the verb... the object and the action. Everything in my shop is handmade from wool.

Tree Hugger

I am a proud tree hugger. I try to reuse as much packaging as possible, my neighbours regularly donate boxes! I reuse and recycle all my bubble wrap and try my best to implement green solutions where I can.

Fibre

I use a variety of fibres. I buy all my fibre from reputable sources that have all the animal welfare certifications. I buy wool fibre from Italy, Ireland and the Uk. I regularly use Merino, Corridale, Bergschaf, Kerry, Galway... and more.

Products:

Each piece I sell is crafted by hand, in small batches; This results in a quirky range of whimsical creatures and decorations many of which are one-of-a-kind ! All are sure to bring a smile.

Environment:

I am committed to creating beautifully handcrafted products.

You won't find plastic tat here!

I use biodegradable materials- wool and wood.

All packaging where possible is re-used, recyclable and compostable.

Workshops:

I am passionate about the transformative power of creativity.

I work with schools through the BLAST, TAP and CREATIVE SCHOOLS initiatives as well as Private workshops.

I have experience in Primary, Post Primary, Special schools and Adult settings.
