In Ireland, there’s a beloved saying: “A robin appears when a lost loved one is near.” These friendly birds often visit our gardens, stirring cherished memories and comforting thoughts of those we miss.

This original embroidered textile artwork captures that sentiment — a celebration of memory, love, and storytelling.

Each piece is handmade by me from start to finish. I create the base using 100% wool through wet felting, then “sketch” the robin using free motion embroidery with my sewing machine. I collage textures and colour using cottons, wool tweeds, and silks, building each piece layer by layer. No two are the same as I free-motion draw with the needle and use various "waste" fabrics. The images here are a representation of that which you will receive.
